Setubal Walking Tour
SETUBAL WALKING TOUR | The Blue City is the Gateway to Alentejo
This tour invites you to explore the hidden gems of the surprising Town of Setúbal. With more than 110,000 inhabitants, this traditional fisherman town bathed by the Sado River has been transformed in the last decade into a vibrant city with many sightseeing sights and trendy spots.
Our Walking Tour starts in the "Baixa" neighborhood. The "Baixa" or downtown, is the historical center of the city and where the history of Setúbal was founded about three thousand years ago. There you will be amazed by sights such as the Cathedral, the Baroque Museum, the Roman Ruins and its commercial area, where you "feel" the town's authentic atmosphere. Afterward, we will continue exploring its narrow cobblestone streets who lead to the main square, dedicated to the city's most remarkable Poet named Bocage.
Later on, we will have a glimpse at the 16th-century Manueline Church of the Jesus Convent, and we will stroll in the Troino neighborhood, before finishing our tour in the traditional Livramento Market, one of the most famous fish markets in Portugal.
