Grândola Walking Tour

GRÂNDOLA WALKING TOUR | Grândola, Swarthy Town, On each face equality, the people are the ones who order the most!

If there is a place in Portugal where we still have the sensation that the Dictatorship has just ended, that place is Grândola. This town located in the center of the Alentejo Coast had a revolutionary song with its name. As it was forbidden the song was played as the signal to start the military coup on the 25th of April of 1974, which led to the Carnation Revolution and the transition to democracy in Portugal.

In this out-of the beaten track tour, you will discover a town rich in street art, monuments and statues that represent some of the 20th century's greatest achievements in the name of democracy. You will also learn about the life and work of its famous characters, as well as about the town itself and the life in its rural area when we visit the Fayões Metello House.
